The effects of computer based teaching in primary The 8th Class Turkish Republic Revolution History and Kemalism on academic success of students

The aim of this study is investigating effect of computer based teaching to the academic success of students for the chapter ?Death or Independent!? of Turkish Republic Revolution History and Kemalism lesson of the 8th class in primary school.This study consists of five parts. In the first part, problem, sub-problems, purpose of the study, its importance, hypothesis, limitations; in the second part, literatur review and related research with the subject in the third part; method of the research and in the fourth part the findings of research and comments about it take place. The conclusion and suggestions are explained in the last part.Working group was consisting of 41 students of Class 8/A and 8/B of 2008-2009 academic year in Kabazli Primary Scholl from Salihli district, Manisa. Before the pretest, it was confirmed that groups were similar with respect to academic achievement.In the research, experimental models are designed according to the pre test and post test control group. Collected datas were analyzed by SPSS 15.0 program. Arithmetic mean, standart deviation, independent sample t-test and paired simple t-test were used to analyze the research data. The lessons were taught by the researcher in both student groups.At the end of the research, the pupils academic achievement within the experiment group to which computer based teaching method was implemented, compared with the traditional educational method of control group. It was reached that the experiment group of pupils were more successful than control group.
