The effect of Web based teaching support to the 8th grade elementary school students' during science lesson

Information technology advances and developes so fast day after day.Nowadays, it?s been using more during the education process. Today, informationtechnology means Internet. Because of this, in this study Internet Based Learningis determined as the effect on students? success..In this paper, the effects of Web Based Science Teaching to the success of8th grade students is studied and it?s results have been discussed. To determinethe effects of Internet Based Education to the students? success; ?Does InternetBased Learning effects students? success?? and ?Do Internet Based Learning?sand Traditional Education?s effects on the students? success have meaningfuldifference?? questions? answers have been researched.In this study, ?Pretest and Posttest Control Grouped half experimentalpattern? has been used. Environment and Sample haven?t been chosen because ofthis study is experimental. Instead of choosing sample, work group has beenchosen and analyzed it?s equality. In this study, work group contains 70 studentswho are studying 8th grade in two sections of Konak Turgut Reis ElemantarySchool in zmir.The diagnosises that were found show us, Internet Based Education andTraditional Education improves students? science success. But the difference ofthe average points, shows us Internet Based Science Teaching effects students?success, more than Traditional Science Education. Also in this study, it?s beentold about the benefits of Internet Support with the help of Constructive Learningand good effects on students? success has been seen.During Science Teaching process, when exercises done by web supportit?s observed that Web Based Teaching improves students? success much morethan Traditional Education. Because of this, we can say web based exercisesimproves students? success. So we need technologic support. In our schools,techonologic needs and computer labs must be highly received. And in educationfaculties, there should be optional web design lesson in each class to make theoutcoming teachers be in touch with the technology and web based teaching.Key Words: Constructivist Learning, Web Based Teaching, TeachingTechnology, Distance Education
