Abstract (EN)
This study has been made in order to detect the primary school 6th class students? skill level of writing a narrative texts.The study has a descriptive quality. Primary school, 6th class students in Çorum make up the study environment.The participants consist of 150 6th class students from three socio-economically different schools in Çorum city center.Students were asked to write narrative texts in order to determine students? skill level of writing a narrative text. The texts were evaluated according to narrative text writing criteria.In analysing the results, SPSS 13.0 program was used.The study results show that students? skill of writing a narrative text isn?t at the desired level. Students? skill of writing a narrative text doesn?t show a meaningful difference to sex. But it shows a meaningful difference to parents?educational level, the number of person in family, family income level, student?s having a seperate room, family?s having a library at home, whether the family buysperiodicals and whether the student attended kindergarten education. Also students?skill of written narration doesn?t show a meaningful difference to sex ,but it shows a meaningful difference to parents?educational level , the number of person in family, family income level, student?s having a seperate room, family?s having a library at home, whether the family buysperiodicals and whether the student attended kindergarten education.Keywords:Turkish education, written narration, text, narrative text
