Branch elementary teachers perceive the relationship between leadership behaviors and organizational commitment

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it's examined if there is relation between perceived leadership behavior of branch teachers and their organizational commitments. For this purpose, 300 branch teachers had been randomly selected among branch teachers working at primary schools of Bayrampaşa district of Istanbul and questions on the survey form have been asked to them. The analysis of collected data have been made with SPSS 18.0 statistics software.Over 50% of participants of the survey told that school principals always want teachers to comply with the rules and orders and always tell teachers what is expected to be about their tasks and duties about the suggestions takes place on leader behavior scale of the study. When looked at the leadership behaviors of school principals; teachers told that school principals mostly sees themselves as the only one has voice in everything, they can't accept the new ideas easily, works without any plans and they don't need to make any explanation to teachers while they're managing the school and it's concluded that they think to be considered and focused on these situations.When looked at the results about the organizational commitment of participants of the study; most of them proudly mentioning about their schools outside the school, they feel the school's problems as their own problems and they state that the school matters so much importance and meaning to them.Keywords: Primary school, teacher, organizational commitment, leadership
