Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to research the effect of the concept carttons on eleminating students? miconceptions, on science achivement and on attitudue towards the science. Concept cartoons about ? living Things and Life? theme in 5th grade science were prepared by researcher. Student?s misconceptions are considered during the concept cartoon preparation. The research was conducted as an experimental study according to the ?pretest and posttest control group model?. In the research, concept cartoons and constructivist instruction method are used in the experiment group and consturctivist instruction methods in the control group. Research is held on 60 5th grade students as 30 in experiment, 30 in control group in İzmir, Konak, Mustafa Baykaş İlköğretim Okulu. In order to collect data, student misconcept determining ?Science Achivement Test? having 76 questions and Kr 0,83 was used. The test was examined by two Science teacher. In order to determine the student attitudes towards the science, Yaşar Baykul?s ?Science Attitude Form? , was conducted. To analyze data, t test analysis were used to determine the significance of the mean values of achievements and atitude?s of the control and experiment groups. As a result, it was determined that the concept cartoons have no significant effect on students? achievement and attitude.
