The Opinions of the supervisors and teachers about the proficiencies of lessons supervision at the level of primary education

The purpose of this study is to assess the proficiencies of primaryeducation supervisors related to lesson supervision and to submit recommendationsin order to improve their proficiencies by using the opinions of the groupsparticipated in this study.The population of the research covers the subject - matter and classroomteachers (totally n=1297) working in the primary schools in the center of Bolu andDüzce provinces and primary supervisors (n=37). The sample of the researchincludes 36 primary school supervisors and 480 teachers.The research is a descriptive type of study. The data were gathered byquestionnaire developed by HüVH\LQ%DúDU7KHUHKDYHEHHQSHUVRQDOLQIRUPDWLRQin the first part of the questionnaire and 24 questions related to the proficiencies ofthe lesson supervision of the supervisors in the second part of the questionnaire. Asa statistical data analysis, frequency, mean, variance analysis, Mann-Whitney U testand t test were used.It wasn?t found a significant difference about the proficiencies of primaryschool supervisors on lesson (classroom) supervision by sex, level of education andvocational duration according to the opinions of supervisors.While it was found a significant difference about the proficiencies ofprimary school supervisors on lesson (classroom) supervision by sex, but it wasn?tfound a significant difference by branch, level of education and vocational durationaccording to the opinions of the teachers. In a addition, it was found a significantdifference between the opinions of teachers and supervisors about the proficienciesof primary school supervisors.As a conclusion, it was recommended making researches on improving theproficiencies of primary school supervisors about lesson (classroom) supervisionand organizing the aplication in accordance wiht the scientific reseach findings.Key Words: Lesson (classroom) Supervision, Proficiencies of Supervisors, PrimarySchool Supervisor
