The ideas of prospective science and technology teacher's about creativity

The aim of this research is to examine the ideas of prospective science teachers about creativity and creativity in science. The research is a model of survey test. The universe of this study is composed of prospective primary science teachers that are the senior students in universities of Aegean region. The subjects of this study consisted of 190 students that are the 4th degree students of 2011-2012 fall at Dokuz Eylül University, Adnan Menderes University, Pamukkale University, Muğla University, department of science teaching. In order to collect information through the survey, survey of creative belief and creativity survey form. The data through these surveys is analyzed via SPSS package program and the percentile of the results is explained through the tables. For the open-ended questions the answers of the prospective teachers are differently and professionally investigated by an expert and expert science teacher according to their consistency and categorized accordingly. The percentiles of these categories are presented through the tables. At the end of this research it was clearly seen that the prospective science teachers have little knowledge about creativity, creative individual and its qualifications or how the creativity in students may appear but they have knowledge about the science lesson may progress the creativity and the effects of the progress elements in the lesson. Furthermore, the ideas such that the school doesn?t support creativity, there is a correlation between intelligence and creativity also the knowledge has a great effect on creativity are highly believed by them which are clearly seen through the research.
