Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to seek an answer to the question of what is the impact of performing 6th Grade attainments of Primary School Visual Arts Course Teaching Program with activities prepared within the framework of cooperative teaching method on pupil?s achievements. In the study, graphic design teaching activities related to primary school 6th grade visual arts course was taught to two different groups using two different methods. Pupils? achievements were assessed in terms of used methods; applying conventional teaching method to one of the groups and Cooperative Teaching Method to the other one. In order to determine the effect of the method, multiple subject single factor ?pretest, final test control grouped design model? which is among experimental models was used as a design together with the qualitative research method. The study was applied to two groups of total of 63 sixth grade pupils as the subject of the test, in 2008-2009 education term, in a primary school that has a visual arts classroom in Yenimahalle District of Ankara Province. One of the groups, selected by random sampling, was assigned as experiment group and the other one as the control group. Participants were subject to measurements related to dependant variables before and after the experimental process. While Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE) and Cooperative Teaching Method activities were applied to the experiment group, conventional teaching activities for the same chapter was applied to the control group. It could be said that before and after the experiment, achievement levels of ?Poster? chapter of the experiment group to which Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE) and Cooperative Teaching Method were applied and the Control group to which conventional teaching was applied showed a meaningful difference in favor of the experiment group in terms of general achievements and retention of topics learned. It has been observed that in addition to sixth grade attainments of pupils during Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE) and Cooperative Teaching Method activities, attainments such as cooperation, sharing and aesthetic thinking expected from the application were also achieved.
