Aesthetic teaching in visual art education at primary school

Abstract (EN)

This study aims at developing aesthetical knowledge and attitude of theprimary school students in visual arts lesson and MVATM (Multidisciplinary VisualArts Training Method), active learning and roconstructive approch has been tried tobe achieved. In the study, quantitative and qualitative model use have been obtained.Quantitative data achievement test and attitude schale with to be collected,quantitative data lesson activity forms, lesson observation form and after practicestudent questionnaire.As the first step in the program towards developing aesthetical attitude ofprimary school class 6 students in Visual Arts lesson, achievement test and attitudescle have been implemented on empirical and control groups, which are formedbalanced through random appointment. The participants have been subjected tomeasurement related to dependent variable before the empirical process, after theempirical process and again three weeks after the process. MVATM(Multidisciplinary Visual Arts Training Method), active learning and roconstructiveapproach have been implemented on experimental group and traditional method hasbeen implemented on control group.Quantitative data collected for experiments with in the framework of thestudy?s general aim have been analyzed through SPSS (The Statistical Packet for TheSocial Sciences) for statistical analyses, excel and statistica package programs. İncomparing the averages of points, arithmetic average, standard deviation and t-testhave been used. Some parts of the qualitative discovery have been formed throughdirect quotation and the other parts have been formed through interpretation of databy organizing them according to codes and themes.It is suggested that MVATM (Multidisciplinary Visual Arts TrainingMethod), active learning and reconstructive approach should be used in visual artslesson because these are more efficient methds in developing aesthetical attitude.
