The evaluation of the outcomes related with the national culture theme in which appeared the Turkish books used in the second section of primary education

ABSTRACTIn this research, two Turkish lesson teacher?s manuals published by two different presses and used all over the schools in the country has been examined. These teacher?s manuals published by Pasifik Press and MEB Press are sixth, seventh and eigth grade. Totally, six teacher?s manuals has been examined. At the first step, the outcomes has been examined. Later on, the activities that has been built according to these outcomes has been examined one by one in detail. The objectives, outcomes and activities in these six teacher?s manuals has been examined according to convenience with the theme of ?Natural Culture?.The objectives and outcomes in the examined six teacher?s manuals are related to the language skills. However, no objectives and outcomes related to the theme of ?Natural Culture? which is the basic of the research have been found. It has been found out that all the objectives and outcomes related to the theme of natural culture are oriented towards the language skills. In the examined activities, there have been ones intending for the gain of natural culture as well as language skills and text analysis. Although the activities aiming the language skills have been poor in number, it has been found out that the activities aiming the gain of natural culture haven?t been figured with any outcomes. As a result of the examine in these six manuals, it has been stated that the given methods should be oriented on the student, leave the teacher in the guiding position and empower the students to construct on their own as a necessity of the Primary Schools Turkish Teaching Programme.Content analysis method has been engaged in the research. Induction method has been applied in the data analysis.
