The competency of the primary school administrators on the crisis management related to earthquake

The schools which suit with the needs of our era can only take form by the some qualified administrators who open to new ideas. The administrators of a country like Turkey, which is on the earthquake zone, have to deal with their schools' security and the adjustments of the 21th century's education sytstem. In order to keep the schools ready for an earthquake, the administrators have to be in a pro-active mood and have the qualifications of planning, organizing, the coordination and communication in the process of crisis. The general aim of this research is inspecting the administrators' guality in planning, organizing, communication and the coordination according to the demographic variations. The model of combing was used in this research beside using a measure and the inquiry to gain the datum. After the combing of necessary literature, the measure ad the inquiry was made by the researcher. The tool for collecting datum was used for 227 school administrators and 1894 teachers who work in the official schools in stanbul. The datum which was gained from this research was analyzed by using the technics like arithmetical average, standardization, Anova, Pearson Corelation Coefficient. According to the datum of the research, the administrators found themselves more efficient and qualified than the evaluations of the teachers in the dimensions of planning, organizing communication and the coordination (N=277; x:17,83; S:5,93). After the insvestigations of the dimensions of planning, organizing, communication and corelation from the period of administration in the base of capacity of the sexes it is seen that there is not a big difference between the male and the female administrators ( t = - 0,111; p>.05). What is more, it is seen that the administrators who were graduated from the education institutions or have a master degree found themselves more qualified than the other education groups in the process of planning, organizing, the corelation and communication. The teachers who are 21 or over 21 found the administrators efficient for the planning, organizing, coordination and communication.
