The administrative problems primary school principals are confronted

In this thesis study, the administrative problems which primary school principals present in Bahcelievler in Istanbul confront with in their profession and the relationships between their qualities are examined and the administrative problems which primary school principals have experinced are tried to be determined by looking at these relationships. The sample of the thesis study constitutes totally 30 primary school principals who officiate in 25 state and 5 private primary schools in Bahcelievler in Istanbul between 2008 and 2009 education-academic year. This research consists of 2 parts: in the first part, information about leadership at education management, school management in primary school, the basis of school principals? selections, and their duties are given and the second part, the questions of survey that is applied are interpreted. The survey which is applied to primary school principles consists of 2 parts: 18 questions about personal and professional knowledge are asked in the first part; the questions that forms totally seven parts which are the confronted administrative problems in primary education , students, parents, staff, Education-Academic, administrative, and the problems that are derived from general, material and the upper units and 37 close-ended and 7 open ended questions have been asked to school principals ın the second part.According to the findings of research, the administrative problems which primary school principals confront show clear differences in terms of schools which are being on duty whether it is state or private, the numbers of students at school, parents? income level and yearly budgets of schools . The most conspicuous finding in the research is that the most important administrative problems of school principal are based on economical insufficiency.
