Abstract (EN)
In this research carried out in order to state the opinions of primary education managers and supervisors in Sakarya province related to the roles of mentoring. It has been consulted 15 school managers and 15 supervisors in Sakarya province, Sapanca and Söğütlü districts. The data have been obtained by using the questionnaire that has been prepared by the researcher depending on the expert opinions. The opinions of 14 school managers and 14 supervisors have been evaluated by carrying out the content analysis.Conseptual frame has been formed by scanning the literature related to the research. By using the questions in the semi-structured questionnaire the opinions of primary education managers and supervisors related to the roles of mentoring have been obtained. Content analysis has been carried out while evaluating the data.Primary education managers and supervisors accept the concept of mentoring as a management role and they think that they are carrying out mentoring while fulfilling the roles of counseling activities. Depending on the opinions of the managers it has been determined that they support the teachers in their financial and psychological problems, occupational problems, relations with students also the teachers consult them apart from these matters such as providing materials, arranging social activities?The contributions of the mentoring process for the teacher, the manager and for the progressing of the school have been stated. In this process sharing is also important while forming a positive school climate. Managers have also mentioned the problems.
