Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to find out the influence and support of the printmaking subjects, which are included in the primary education 6th grade art and craft lesson programme, to the Multi Disciplinary Art Education Method (CASEY) to the traditional education approach, students'achievent, their attitudes to the lesson, the retention of learning and artistic development. This research has been carried out with a total of 60 students consisting of two groups from 6th grade stuedents at the visual arts class of a primary school in the Çankaya District of Ankara. One of the groups that was chosen through random sampling method was assigned as the experiment and the other as the control group. While a Multi Disciplinary Art Education Method was applied to the experiment group, a traditional education method was applied to the other group. In order to test the impact of the methods, a pre test - post test control group experimental design was used. Apart from that, three students from the experiment group chosen randomly were studied through interviews and observation to understand the impact of the method on their cognitive and artistic development. The results showed that an important was found to the advantage of the experiment group on the point of their attitudes to the art craft lesson, the retention of learning. The study of three students showed that their interest and motivation towards the art craft lesson rose, they showed a positive development in their aesthetic and critcal judgement levels. The art craft teacher identified their interests, that the students have gained co-operation and sharing in the relationships between each other.IV Because of the positive affects of the Multi Disciplinary Art Education Method on students, it is suggested that this method should be used in the primary schools' art-craft education programmes.
