Teaching the unit of conquest of İstanbul and afterwards according the unit to the four different teaching strategies

ABSTRACT MASTER THESIS TEACHING THE UNIT OF CONQUEST OF ISTANBUL AND AFTERWARDS ACCORDING THE UNIT TO THE FOUR DIFFERENT TEACHING STRATEGIES CAN EKİZ ADVISER : Ass. Prof. Ersin GÜLSOY 2001 - 132 Jury The aim of this research is to emphasize the importance of strategy in teaching social sciences in respect of teachers and students, to explain how important the strategy is especially in historry education and whocoh of these strategies bound to result effectively in history teaching. The research questions were; how effective the other strategies are, which one is the least effective teaching strategy, whether or not there are any strategies without a considerable difference among them. The research has benn carried out with experimental method; the unit was taught by the researcher in all classes; evalution was done with test technique and interwiev after the research. Moreover, the literature on subject was minutely searched and also the teachers were interviewed. The social science teachers and the students of 7th afternoon classes of 13 primary education state schools in Giresun city centre have been the research area. The modals of this research have been all the social science teachers in these schools and the students of 7-A class in Fatih Primary Education School, 7-D class in Kanuni Primary Education School, 7-F class in Mehmet Akif Ersoy Education School and 7-D class in Yeşilgiresun Primary Education School. Variation analysis ant T test have been used in statisticial analysis of the data obtained through test tecnique.
