Analysis of the effect of computer based science and technology instruction in science and technlogy education according to view of science and technology teachers (Sample of Gazi̇antep and Ki̇li̇s)

This study has been conducted in order to find out whether there are any differences between the opinion of the science and technology teachers working in elementary schools towards computer assisted science and technology learning application. The research has been applied in randomly selected elementary education schools from the central districts of Gaziantep and Kilis cities in 2011-2012 education year. The sampling of the study has been composed by 135 science and technology teachers working in elementary schools in central districts of Gaziantep and Kilis cities. 93 science and technology teachers are working in central districts of Gaziantep city and 42 science and technology teachers are working in central districts of Kilis city. With the aim of gathering the data, an opinion scale form was employed. The scale consists of two parts. In the first part, the questions of personal information belonging to the teachers who took part in the research are stated. In the second part, the questions oriented the opinions of the science and technology teachers towards computer assisted learning application. The data gotten in the research have been analyzed by using SPSS programme and frequency (f) and percentage (%) values of the data have been counted with the aim of determining whether the data have a significant difference according to sub-problems or not and t-test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), LSD multiple comparison test, Kruskal Wallis-H test and Mann Whitney U test have been used. The findings gotten by the research can be summarized like this: * All of the science and technology teachers participated in the research have showed positive opinion concerning with computer assisted learning application. * As a result of the analysis, science and technology teachers who are younger and have less seniority have much more positive view about the opinion of computer assisted learning application. * In order to be applied and successful computer assisted learning in education system, firstly teachers should be educated about the computer assisted learning application.
