The problems music teachers in primary schools face in music classes and their views regarding the reasons (South Easthern Anatolia Region case)

The aim of this study is to clarify whether there is an significant point in the problems (demographic nature, sex, experience period, the graduation schools, branc the location ) confronted by the teachers who are teaching music lessons in the elementary schools inthe South East of Anatolia. The study is carried out with a questionaire which was given to those teachers who are responsible of teaching music at the schools in the South East of Anatolia in the provinces (named Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Sanlıurfa ve Siirt). The questionaire is given to 121 music teachers in different 121 elementary schools. The obtained knowledge was reviewed and a number of ststistical analysis were made by the researchers. As a result, the music teachers had different difficulties in music lessons(in singing songs, playing enstruments, listening to music. Music laws and making music; in practise, in carrying out the music curriculum; in using the music text books; in using and applying methods and tecniques; and in grading students). The teachers complained about the limited hours in the time table, the lack of equipment, the number of students in classes, the hardness of curriculum, the sortage of text boks, and the limited unconvenient rooms which are given to music classes. iv Demografically there isn?t any significant point but the teachers who don?t like the place in which the school located have more problems in teaching and learning songs and listening activities.
