Association of school songs related to celebration of specific days and weeks in primary education with other lessons according to constractivist teaching

Ministry of National Education promoted to configured education throughout the country in school year 2005-2006. Thus instead of memorizer students, it is expected to educate students who integrated data with their life experiences to find creative solutions.Objective of this research is to analyze school songs regarding special days and weeks celebrated in primary schools and acquisitions obtained from configured approach, to determine deficiencies, to introduce the acquisitions through music, to make contribution to improve the general knowledge of the students by reminding the special days by songs out of school environment, to support permanency of acquisitions obtained from configured approach relevant to special days and weeks of Knowledge of Life and Social Studies Lessons, to make education more permanent by associating lives of students with special days and weeks within the context of configured education.In this research, scanning model used in primary schools, regarding special days and weeks in the perspective of description method according to time, place and control opportunity is used. Furthermore, according to configured approach acquisitions obtained from special days and weeks, classes within, break, tabulated by associating with other disciplines and arts and supported by the songs selected according to levels of primary school students.As this is the first research done about this subject, it is thought that this research will be useful for the future ones.Conclusion and recommendations part of the research contains, acquisition obtained from this study and evaluations of school songs regarding special days and weeks.Keywords: Configured Approach, Knowledge of Life Lesson, Social Studies Lesson, Special Days and Weeks, School Songs
