The applicability of performance rating system in primary education

The aim of this research is to determine ?The Applicability of Performance Rating System in Primary Education? based on views and thoughts of instructors and school administrators. Due to conceptional change of supervision, performance has become more important today. Consistency and efficiency between performance and current regulations are strongly considered. This research provides content with applicable solution offers.It is predicated on analyising the applicability of performance rating system in primary education considering the views of instructors and school administrators. The only purpose of supervision is the productivity of educational instutions, whether they are supervised by school managers or by senior inspectors. This research is important in terms of drawing attention to what needs to be done in order to apply performance rating system successfully.The survey model which consists of two parts is used for research. The first part is personal information form which was followed by a survey with thirty questions to determine the perceptions of instructors and administrators about applicability of performance rating system in primary education. In order to achieve the purpose of this research six primary education instutions, with previous experiences of performance rating system, from Istanbul were selected. Following that, input data was statistically evaluated by SPSS and signifance tests between groups were predicated on p=0.05 level. Frequency, percentage, center alignment, standard deviation and the t-test and one-way anova were used analysing the data.The research states expressly that performance rating system is applicable. Instructors do not mind their performance being evaluated by students, parents or colleagues. On the other hand, no significant conclusion related to relation between their performance and inspector supervisory was achieved. Depending on this, inspector supervisory of instructors is not related to their performances.According to research outcome, it is obvious that performance rating system is applicable. Furthermore, instructors do not mind their performance being evaluated by students, parents or colleagues.
