The relationship between performance management applications in primary schools and organizational citizenship of teachers and headmasters

The aim of this research is to show the relation between the applications of performance management and how much the headmasters and teachers have got organizational citizenship in primary schools. The universe is Sakarya province and the sample consists of 470 teachers and 68 headmasters who work in Adapazarı. To see whether there is a significant relation among the views of teachers on organizational citizenship and their applications of performance management, or not ? Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation , To see whether there is a significant difference in their views on sex, mission, field ,performance management and their vocational training course on organizational citizenship ? Test t , To see whether there is a significant difference in which their views are differed by their position, education and the quantity of teachers in the schools ? Anova are used.The out comings of the research show that there is a significant relation between the applications of performance management and organizational citizenship. It is concluded that male teachers have more tendency on sportsmanship and civil virtue in organizational citizenship than females, that headmasters have more altruism, sportsmanship, conscientiousness and civil virtue than teachers, that branch teachers have more tendency on altruism, conscientiousness and civil virtue than primary teachers, and there is no significant difference in the teachers? views on the application of organizational citizenship according to their education and position. With regards to the applications of performance management in primary schools it is concluded that there is a striking difference in the teachers? views on the applications of performance management according to the their position, education, field, mission and quantity of teachers.
