A study on the effeckts of practising tokat kerchief paterns in the original printing activities in the 8th grades of primary schols

This study is con cerned with the success of the students influen ced by practisin g `Tokat Kerchief Patterns? in the original printing activities in the 8th grades of Primary school s. This study is based on the studen s of 8/A an d 8/B of Trabzon-Maçka Ce-zi-ne Kar desl er Primary Schoo l of Mini stry of Education in 2005-2006 education year. For this study, the students were classifi ed as test an d control group s. The test gro up was subj ected to `Tokat Kerch ief Patterns? wh ile the students of control gro up were practi sed the subjects of printin g techn iques in the art (fine arts) lesson accordin g to the curriculums of the staff. The method of multifield art education was used throughout the study in order to obtain a more pro ductive result. Furthermore, the students of the control and test gro ups were imposed a pr e-test, a final test an d a student manner scale both at the beginning and end of the study. The students were ask ed question s at the end of the study to learn their ideas about the experiment by mean s of negotiation forms. Excel and SPSS (Stati stical Package for Social Sci ence) were used in order to analyse the study data. And, as for the quantitative data, it was analy sed using describing and inf erred statistical methods. The an aly si s of `t? test and Kovaryans (ANCOVA) was utili zed for the inferred statistical techniques. The differences bet ween the attitudes and success of the gir l an d boy students were determined with `t? test and the effectiven ess of the exper imental st udy was tested by ANCOVA. The data of negotiation forms i s subjected to a content analy sis. Accor ding to the result of the study, it was observed that knowledge of the students developed but not a noticeable improvement was seen in their interest towards the lesson. In addition to these, it was noticed that the visual arts lessons in the 8th grades are not paid the necessary attention because of OKS (Secondary Education Institutions Ex ams) an d the st udents do not take the foreign l anguage an d the other lessons requir in g talent ser iously because they sp en d most of their time to prepare for the mentioned exam an d their par ents an d the school admini stration think in the same way the st udents do. As a r esult, the necessary precautions sho uld be taken an d a coor dination sho uld be established bet ween the Mini stry of Education an d Mini stry of Culture and their related institution s in or der to make the art lessons more pro ductive an d give opportunity to the students to take a more fr uitful art education in the s chool s . By only means of this, virtually extinct arts peculi ar to our var ious region s co uld also be kept alive.
