The identification of primary school students parents' expenditures

The purpose of this study is to identify the type and amount of the expenditures that parents of the primary school students did at various times in 2009-2010 education year.The sample of this study was formed by 312 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students? parents from 6 randomly selected primary schools in Keçiören, Ankara. In this research, a questionnaire formed by four basic parts has been used to collect the data. The first part consisted of demographic information about parents. The second, third, and fourth parts consisted of various dimensions ?Determination of the Primary School Students? Parents Education Expenditures Questionnaire?.In the data analysis process, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation for discrete and continuous variables have been used to analyze the data. For variables with three or more levels, prerequisites for parametric tests have been examined and a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) has been made. After that analysis Tukey multiple comparisons test was made for significant results. If the variables have two levels, prerequisites for parametric tests have been examined and t- test has been used.As a result of the research it has been seen that the resources allocated to education were inadequate and parents made a big contribution to the cost of education by various expenditures during an education year. Also it has been realized that expenditures took a great place in parents? monthly income.
