Evaluating the proficiency of primary schools administrators in using computer technology

Abstract (EN)

This research has been done for primary schools administrators using computer technology to determine executive functions and level of benefit. Self developed scale was applied to 62 administrators and 138 co-administrators working in formal primary schools in Ankara in 2007-2008 academic years. Survey with two parts was prepared to collect data. There were demographic variables in the first section and a scale with 40 items covering computer technology fields in schools was in the second part. By using the SPSS 15.0 pc program, these data were evaluated. Generally, 78 percent of school administrators on the search used computer technology. So it was obvious that school administrators had accommodated computer technology in schools. In personals? works, school administrators mostly used computer technology for preparing department certificate and diploma records. In the students? works, school administrators mostly used computer technology for preparing diploma, report card, appreciation certificate. In the educational works, school administrators mostly used computer technology for preparing curriculum; add/subtract school?s belongings by internet. But, in personals? works, they least used computer for travel account, birth/died account. In students? works, they least used computer for student?s success statistics in class and province. In educational works, they least used computer for library studies and all on-line doings for students and families, keeping school, canteen, etc. According to variance analysis findings, in terms of personal seniority, there was significant difference on benefiting from computer technology on personal works. This difference was favor of administrators with higher seniority. According to findings, it can be said that administrators with on-the-job training have more high-level benefit from computer technology than the others. Statistically, in terms of educational works and students? works, it was found that there was significant difference between administrators? on-the-job training and the others. Administrators have more high-level using computer technology on keeping school than co-administrators. Statistically, In addition to this, it was found significant difference between administrators and co-administrators? level of benefiting from computer technology for keeping.
