Abstract (EN)
The general purpose of this study is that primary school teachers? views on communication skills of primary school administrators will be identified and its relationship between school success will be determined. This study?s working group consists of 1424 teachers working at 35 formal primary schools in the center of Balıkesir in 2011-2012 academic years. In this study, survey method was used and the data were obtained with ?Communication Skills Survey? developed by Şimsek (2003). 964 (% 67,69) teachers responded to the survey and 853 (% 59,90) questionnaires were evaluated. ?Microsoft Office Excel 2003? and ?SPSS 16.0? programs were used for data analysis. In all statistical analysis, the significant level (p) is accepted as .05. Since data didn?t have normal and/or homogenous distribution, Non-parametric tests called Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H were used for data analysis. The relationship between communication skills of the primary school administrators and school success was determined with Spearman Brown correlation coefficient. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that there wasn?t considerable relationship between the primary school administrators? points taken from the ?Communication Skills Survey? (r = -0,47; p>0.5). This is based on this way because 34 school administrators (% 97,14) have worked at their last school for only ?1-2 years?; and most of teachers (836 teachers, % 98) can?t know their administrators sufficiently. It can be told that the teacher not knowing his administrator has evaluated the communication skills of his administrator in a positive way by hesitating or reflecting an existing status differently for not predicting how his administrator will behave.
