Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that influences on the decisions of the elementary school principals. Population of this study includes all elementary school principals (141) of Çanakkale province. However, the sample of the study is 136 elementary school principals. Factors that influences the decisions of elementary school principals are investigated in three different areas of schooling process. These areas are teaching and instruction, staff personnel and finance. These influential factors are categorised as highly effective, moderate effective and less effective for each areas. In the area of teaching and instruction highly effective factors are found as National Ministry of Education and past experiences. Moderate effective factors are people living in the same school district and media. Less effective factors are public institutions and publishing companies. In the area of staff personnel highly effective factor is found as past experiences. Moderate effective factors are educational program and people living in the same school district, less effective factors are public institutions and publishing companies. In the area of finance highly effective factor is found as past experiences. Moderate effective factor is people living in the same school district, less effective factors are public institutions and publishing companies.
