An analysis of the music teachers? use of baglama in primary and secondary education

In this study, the teachers? use of baglama in primary and secondary education in Turkey was analyzed.The population of the study is the music teachers working in primary and secondary schools. The sample consisted of 70 music teachers who were drawn from 7 different geographical regions of Turkey. The data was collected through a questionnaire. The data acquired through the questionnaire was analyzed by means of percentage and frequency values and shown in tables.In the result of the study, the level of the use of baglama in classroom and the other activities in primary and secondary music education, the students? interest in baglama, and the appropriateness of baglama for music lesson and the contributions of the use of baglama in music class were determined. In light of the results, suggestions were also made.
