The difficulties and suggestions for solving the problems in teaching the history of the republic of Turkish Revolution and The Principles of Atatürk course in the opinions of the teachers in primary and secondary education.

This work?s aim is to determine and define problems in the teaching of Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism course in elementary and secondary education and solution suggestions according to views of the teachers. The work scope consist of 94 state and private schools (45 secondary and 49 elementary schools) under Ministry of Education in Çankaya, Yenimahalle, Keçiören, Mamak, Altındağ, Etimesgut, Sincan, Gölbaşı and Elmadağ districts of Ankara and 135 Reform history teachers (70 secondary school and 65 elementary school teachers) in 2005-2006 Education ? Learning semester. An attitude survey was applied on teachers to determine the problems encountered in Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism course of elementary and secondary education and their suggestions to overcome this problem. After the data is acquired, results are given relative to on which areas problems are concentrated and their solution suggestions. In evaluation of the question, SPSS statistical program was used. As a result of survey applications and literature searches, we tried especially to present problems encountered by teachers and solution suggestions. We hope that this data will be used in the new program that will be prepared and course books.
