Abstract (EN)
Socialization is of great importance in terms of removing the students? increasing adoptation problems in the society and realizing their complete adoptation to the society. It is a fact that the conflicts in the society derive from the lack of communication among the individuals. It is the basic aim of the primary education schools, which are to educate the students especially in their fast growing periods, to ensure the survival of the individuals helping them communicate with each other in a healthy way. To teach the students how to communicate in a good manner and tok help them socialalize are among the aims of the Social Sciences. For this reason, the research is based on two basic problems. The first one is ; what is the vital contribution of the research tasks (Projects, performances and activities) existing in the extension of Social Sciences to the socialization of the individual? The second one is ; how are the attitudes of the teachers towards the research tasks? In priority, literature scanning was made, then depending upon the views of the experts, a questionnarie aimed at the students about the subject was held in order to collect data. Besides this, meetings were organized to the teachers to increase the quality of the data. Research was carried out by means of the questionnaire held in Mehmet Zorlu and Zübeyde Hanım Primary Education Schools located in the region of Serdivan in Adapazarı and the surveys applied to the Social Sciences Teachers and 5. Grade teachers in fifteen schools. Then, the outputs of the questionnaires and surveys are compared and interpreted. The research is consisted of four parts. In the first part, the directly related concepts of Social Sciences and socialization are described. In the second part, the aims of the Social Sciences and its relation with socialization are put forward with their mutual influences and contributions. In the third part, the collection and interpretation of the data, and the contribution of the research tasks, social activities to the socialization of the students are determined. In the last part, the results taken from the research findings and suggestions for the next researches can be found. The questionnarie used as a means of collecting data consists of 8 questions to get the personal information and 47 questions to interpret the state of the students? socialisation and manner while doing their homework. In the meetings with the teachers, nine questions were asked. The questionnarie for the students were applied to the same groups two times, first at the beginning of the 2006-7 education year and at the end of the first term. In order to increase the reliability and acceptability in collecting data. Explanations and descriptions were made to the students ineach class during the appliance of the questionnarie. SPPS 13 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used in the analysis , interpretetion of the information obtained in the research. Data was evaluated in numbers and percents. By means of cross tables , the changes between the first and the second test , the comparisons of the questions showing the state of doing the research tasks and the state of socialisation have been made. By using the questions of the questionnarie (t test and ANOVA test), the changes between the first and the second test were determined, the state of doing research tasks and their state of socialization was compared. 1. The students in charge of doing research tasks are obliged to get more helps from their parents, brothers and sisters, which increases their state of communication. 2.The students finizhing their research tasks are made to get into contact with other people, institutions apart from their families. This situation helps them to be in contact with social life and more socialized individuals. 3. Higher rate of socialization can be observed in the students doing their research tasks in compare with the ones not being able to do research tasks. 4. The students who take part in the social activities both inside and outside the school are more socialised than the ones who don?t take part in social activities. It is suggested to give at least one project in each midterm year and a performance homework in each unit in Social Sciences
