Dr. Şenay NARTGÜNOctober 2005, xxiv + 169 PagesThe goal of this research is to analyze primary school applications (regular,boarding and transporting) via the difficulties encountered with human and materialresources according to the views of teachers and students in Mudurnu village of Boludistrict.Screening model is used in this research. Since this research is definingrelations among the variables, it is completed with a relative screening model.The data regarding to primary school applications in Turkey are collectedfrom surveys applied to teachers and students. After receiving the surveys, they havebeen compared for differences.The medium of the research is comprised of teachers and students attendingto primary school as regular, boarding and transporting for 8 year term in the trainingyear of 2004-2005 in Mudurnu, Bolu.The medium totals 8 primary schools of which 2 is regular, 5 is transportingand 1 is boarding. These schools had 67 teachers and 1230 students with 644 boysand 586 girls.The result of the research is as follows:1. While teachers are having more difficulties to motivate students for afternoonclasses in regular schools, transporting and especially YIBO (boarding regionalprimary schools) students had more problems in morning classes.22. When it is needed to contact the guardian in law of the student, male teachersclaimed to reach them generally, while female teachers answered rarely.3. The ratio of teachers who are having difficulties on motivating their students forclassroom in the morning and in the afternoon is slightly higher for female teachersthan male teachers.4. YIBO students are having the most physical problems while attending to schools.Transporting school students are second and regular students are last on the list.Headache is the most common complaint.5. When student are graded as excellent and good, regular students received thehighest, YIBO students received the lowest scores. Also, more than 20% of thestudents had no idea about their success at all.6. Students attending to regular schools declare that they prefer regular schools.Transporting school students prefer YIBO and YIBO students prefer transportingschools.7. Students having the most comfort at the classroom in order are; YIBO,transporting and regular school students.8. Students feeling happy at the school in order are; regular, transporting and YIBO.9. Female students prefer attending to regular schools first, transporting is next andYIBO is the last. Vice versa, male students prefer attending to YIBO first,transporting is next and regular is the last.Key words are: Transporting Primary School, Boarding Primary School andPrimary School.
