The effect of the research-survey education and the traditional way of education system at primary school 7th grades social studies lesson to the academic succes

The main purpose of this research is to test the acadenic achievement of 7th grade students at social studies lesson by research-survey analysis education compared to traditional way of education. Fort his purpose, the experimental and control groups are created and by the help of the pre-tests last-tests, the differences between the grades of the groups are tested about whether they are meaningful or not. This research was carried out at Vali Adil Yazar Primary School in Muş on the fist half of 2012-2013 academic year. This research was carried out with totally 40 students, 20 from 7/B class which teams up the experimental group and 20 from 7/B grades. While determining the groups, the viewpoints of the course teacher, achievement tests and problem solving inventories which were applied to the groups as pre-test, personal in information questionnaire in order to reveal the students profiles were used. Education by means of survey-research and analysis was applied to the experimental group by the course teacher and the researcher, on the other hand, to the control group the lessons were taught as they were determined in 2012-2013 Social Studies Lessan Cirriculum without any in tervention of the course teacher. By taking necessary course goins into consioleration, this practice was carried out during 6 weeks, as 2 weeks preparation and 4 weeks administration. On the preparation process some in informative studies related to the research were applied to the students by the researcher. At the end of the practice the achievement test and problem solving inventory were applied as last-test and compared to the pre-test grades the results obtained from the research are transferred to the computer by using (SPSS) package and ANOVA analysis is applied to the datas abtained from achievement test and problem solving inventories. That differentiation of grades that the experimental group obtained, compared to the control group was meant a lot on the advantage of experimental group. As a result it's found out that education by means of survey-research analysis is more successful than the traditional education. Key words: Problem, Problem Based Learning, Social Science
