A critical approach to the ?verb voices? subject that is discussed in the seventh grade Turkish books

The grammar subjects taught normatively in the Turkish lessons are perceived to be very complex and difficult by the students. Giving students some abstract rules that have no connection with the real , everyday life speeches may have bad and negative results. However; while having lessons based on some texts, if the ones that are both literaturally valuable and proper to the students? levels are chosen; thus the grammar rules will be taught by comprehension and grasp. The aim of this study is to contribute to correct/remove the present mistakes / deficiencies of the subject ?The Verb Voices? taught in the Turkish books.In this research I firstly formed a data base by determining how the ?Voice? subject is used in the scientific/academic sources and in the sample student books. Then I evaluated the information in this sources by comparing and showed the related results in charts and schemes. By considering the seventh grade students? level , I examined the mistakes and deficiencies with a critical view and I tried to create new suggestions/approaches in the light of modern Turkish teaching techniques/ methods/ approaches such as demonstration approach/conceptual map /deduction /visualisation ?especially for the Turkish teachers.In this frame; these are the results that are revealed through a research on the student books examined:?The definitions/terms/concepts present in the students books,academic/scientific books may often be in contradiction with each other.?While subjects/terms/concepts related with grammar are taught ;they must be in integrity;and every information should be taught with the elements that they are related with.?The grammar subjects and the students? interests and needs must be connected.?While teaching subjects which are thought to be abstract by the students, firstly the subject should be concretized by considering the students? age level.
