The primary teachers' usage frequency of creativity activities in 4 th and 5 th grade in science and technology course (Manisa city example)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the primary teachers? the usage frequency of creativity activities in 4th and 5 th grade in Science and Technology Course. For this general purpose, the following questions were formulated as research questions: 1- How often the primary teachers use creative activities in 4th and 5 th grade in Science and Technology Course? 2- Do the usage frequency of creative activities of teachers change their age, gender, year of service and their schools? facilities such internet, facilities, science labs and library? The participants of the study consisted 193 primary teachers who work at primary schools in Manisa in 2005-2006 educational years. A Questionnaire -developed by- Bilge Öztepe was used to gather data. The questionnaire consists of 44 questions. All questions were answered on a 1-3 scale whereby 1=Always, 2=Sometimes, 3=Never. Data were analyzed by using t test, mean, Turkey test and one way ANOVA test. Results indicated that the usage frequency of creative activities is quite high. Results also showed that using creativities significantly differed by gender, year of service and schools? facilities such as internet, science labs and high school which teachers graduated.
