Investigating of the topics connected with the earthguake in social sciences lessons in elemantary school

Turkey is on the most effective seismic belts. As today, Turkey will be live with earth quake in the future, too. The way of being rescued. From earth quake with least damage is an effective earthquake education in schools. In this research, it is focused that in social sciences. Lesson how earthquake been discussed. After fixing the problems, the solutions have been found. In the first part of the research, it is mentioned about the situation of earthquake and the methods, materials which are used in Social Sciences lessons.In this research, interview method has been used. The questions of interview have been applied to 275 teachers who teach earthquake and the ways of protections in Social Sciences lessons in the central of Muş and Bolu.According to the final of the research it has been fixed that in the curcirulum of Social Sciences. The earthquake hasn?t been enough as a subject and effective materials and methods haven?t been used. In the final part of the research some solution recommendations have been made:?We should learn to live with earthquake in spite of living in a country which has a high risk.?It should be mentioned more about earthquake in the curciculum of Social Sciences.?Social Sciences teachers should use we different methods and materials.?There should be a programme which won?t make students helpless.Key Words: Earthquake, Social Sciences, Teacher
