The evaluation of the methods applied on gifted students in elemetary school

The science branch, which is the key of life, is breathing like life. Because of this, from the past to today and the future, Mathematics learning and learning methods are growing. But students fear from the mathematics, don?t like it and become failure. For the students liking mathematics and became successful topics must be student oriented. The high talented students attend the Science and Art Center (SAC)?s in their spare time that is outside of their school times. SAC? provide them the special education they require. In SAC? Language Arts, Mathematics, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Art, Music main sciences, Foreign Languages and Computer support units are servicing the high talented students. The students are accepted to be educated in SAC? from three main subjects: General Mental Ability (GMA), Art and Music. This research study is prepared for analyzing the changes in the attitude of high talented students that attend the Science and Art Center in zmir and other education institutes in zmir towards mathematics. Whether the study area, sexuality or ages of these students have influence on their attitude towards mathematics is also analyzed. The main aim of this research study is understand of whether there is an effect of SAC? on high talented students towards mathematics or not. By this purpose a ?Mathematic Attitude Scale? that includes a personal information form is constructed. By analyzing the results of this research study, it is shown that there is an effect of SAC? on the attitude of high talented students towards mathematics and this effect is independent of sexuality and study areas whereas age is an important factor of this effect.
