The relationship between 3rd grade primary school students' self management skill and their attitudes towards the life sciences course

It is a descriptive study in the relational screening model conducted to examine the relationship between the self management skills of 3rd grade primary school students and their attitudes towards the Life Sciences course. The population of the research consists of 3rd grade primary school students in Kayseri in the 2023-2024 academic year. The sample consists of 684 3rd grade primary school students selected by simple random sampling technique among the 3rd grade primary school students in Kayseri. The "Self-Management Skills Scale for Primary School Students" developed by Köseoğlu and Boyacı (2022) and the "Life Science Lesson Attitude Scale" developed by Oker and Tay (2020) were used as data collection tools in the study. The data obtained was analyzed with the SPSS program. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the 3rd grade primary school students' scores on self management skills were high. It was found that students' self management skills differ significantly depending on the type of school, the district where the school is located, the profession of the mother and father and the student's favorite subject. It was concluded that there was a positive, moderately significant relationship between the self management skills of 3rd grade primary school students and their attitudes towards the Life Sciences course.
