Abstract (EN)
Teacher ratings is used in identification process to provide diversity of information gathered about students' intelligence-related traits. In order to examine the success of the teacher ratings, Scale for Rating Intelligence (SRI) was developed. For the content validity of the scale 23 expert opinions and for the face validity 3 expert opinions were obtained. The construct validity of the scale was examined with 437 student ratings conducted by 79 teachers. The findings of the study indicate that the scale has a 3-component structure and high internal consistency reliability. The study was conducted with 14 teachers and 265 students. The research data were obtained by direct nomination form, rating scale and intelligence test. A significant and high level of correlation (.66) was found between the ratings made with SRI and the intelligence test results. This finding suggest that the teacher ratings is successful in the rating of intelligence. According to the findings of the research, ratings made with the rating scale were more successful than the direct nomination form. Teachers' professional experience and students' gender do not affect the success of ratings. Keywords: Intelligence, Identification, Teacher ratings, Gifted nomination.
