Abstract (EN)

This research, which aims to reveal the applicability of multiple intelligence theory based on the skills of solving daily life problems in the fourth-grade primary school science course, was carried out with the action research design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The participants of the study consisted of 23 students attending the 4th grade in a public primary school in Istanbul in the 2022-2023 academic year, their parents and classroom teacher. The data of the research were collected through observation data obtained from video recordings and observation forms, researcher diaries, student works, evaluation forms, self-evaluation forms, and semi-structured interviews with students, parents, and classroom teacher. The data of the research were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained in the research, five themes were revealed: "process", "cognitive", "affective", "skill" and "problems and solutions". In the process dimension, it has been understood that the course plans prepared in the context of Multiple Intelligence Theory are suitable course plans that can be used to gain students the relevant acquisitions. Cognitive dimension: It has been seen that students' understanding and comprehension of the subjects and their academic success increase and contribute to their effective learning. In the affective dimension, it was observed that the students were happy, enjoyed, had fun, were excited, participated in the activities willingly, gained self-confidence and developed a sense of self-efficacy in the process. In the skill dimension, it was revealed that students improved their ability to associate and communicate with daily life. In terms of problems and suggestions, it was concluded that the students' desire to take part in every activity and their desire to take more words and express their thoughts in activities based on multiple intelligences created problems.
