Abstract (EN)
This research is achieved the evoluation for the effects of student's in 4th grade's reading motivations and attitudes to reading within the passages of their favourite characters. Through the aim, quantitive research model based semi-experimental patterns are used. In this model, students of Sakarya Hendek a primary school attended. This research's independent argument is the passages formed with student favourite characters. The dependents arguments are reading motivations and attitudes to reading. In the research, non-parametric tests are used in the analysis of quantitive outputs. In consequence of statistical analysis in the research, the experimental group's pre-test and final test points showed statistical difference. Otherwise, in the control group, a significant difference isn't observed. There is a significant between the students reading passages with their favourite characters and those who read traditional passages. When the experimental group's pre-test and final test in raeding motivations are compared the scale's lower factors that reading difficulty perceptions, reading suffiency, efforts of reading and total points showed no difference in statistical way. Experimental and control group's final test points of reading motivations are compared, scale of difficulty in reading, suffiency of reading, efforts of reading lower factors and total points showed statistical difference. However the social aspects of reading no difference in manner of statistics. Finally, the passages with student's favourite characters develops their reading motivations. Key Words: Reading motivations, attitudes to reading, traditional passage.
