Özet (EN)
It is necessary to determine students' interest in the activities and learning environments in educational institutions to enable them to reach the curriculum goals. Therefore, it is vital to assess the student involvement. The study aimed to determine primary school students' involvement level in classroom activities. The research population comprised students enrolled at primary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Afyonkarahisar city center during the 2019-2020 academic year. A total of 560 students studying in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades at primary schools affiliated with Afyonkarahisar Provincial Directorate of National Education were included in the study sample. The research used a survey model with a quantitative research design. A Personal Information Form, developed by the author, and the Leuven Involvement Scale, developed by Laevers, Declercq and Jackamn (2010), were used as the data collection tools in the study. The validity and reliability tests regarding this source were conducted by the author. The data obtained during the study were analyzed with SPSS 20. The research revealed that students in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades in primary school have a moderate involvement level. There is a significant difference between the involvement levels of primary school students by their gender, course type, seniority of the teacher, and the graduation department type. It was concluded that there is no significant difference between the students' grade level, their pre-school education status, and the age, education level, and the monthly income of their parents. Moreover, certain involvement indicators were found to differ significantly by grade level and course type.
