Özet (EN)

Data literacy, one of the 21st century literacies, is the ability of individuals to understand, evaluate, interpret and use data effectively. It is important to provide this skill to students starting from primary school in order for them to make the right decisions with the data they may encounter in their daily lives. In this context, research on this subject will provide great benefits to educators and primary school students. In this direction, the aim of this study is to provide primary school 4. To develop a valid and reliable scale to determine the data literacy of grade students. In the research, firstly, the national and international theoretical framework and studies regarding the concepts that make up the variables were examined. Then, the survey technique was used on the subject. In the questionnaire used, the opinions of academicians and teachers on data literacy were taken. From these opinions, ideas were taken while creating the article pool. There are 30 substances in the first process in the created item pool. With the receipt of expert opinions, it was decided to remove 3 items from the scale. The sample group of the research consists of 1200 primary school 4th grade students in Afyonkarahisar central schools. This sample group was selected by stratified sampling method. The first application of the scale, which consists of 27 items, was applied to 600 students and as a result of the exploratory factor analysis, it was decided to keep 17 items in the scale. Data were collected from 600 students in order to perform the confirmatory factor analysis of this new draft scale consisting of 17 items. It was decided not to remove any article in the DFA. When the model fit indices were examined, it was determined that χ 2 /sd, RMSEA, GFI, SRMR, NFI and NNFI values showed acceptable fit, and AGFI and CFI values showed perfect fit. In order to increase the reliability of the study and to learn the distinctiveness of the items, Cronbach's Alpha coefficients, Total item correlations and t and p values of the 27% lower and upper group were calculated. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the Data Literacy Scale for Primary School 4th Grade Students, which consists of 17 items, is valid and reliable. When the levels of the sample group belonging to the developed scale were examined, the mean of the scale was calculated as 80, 3517 and it was concluded that the sample group level was at a moderate level.
