Examination of the relationship between primary school managers' levels of work integration, burnout and entrepreneurship

The purpose of this research; The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between primary school administrators' levels of work engagement, burnout and entrepreneurship. The universe of the research is all school administrators working in primary schools in Turkey. The sample of the research consists of 201 school administrators working in Seyhan, Yüreğir, Çukurova and Sarıçam, which are the central districts of Adana. 144 of the managers working in the four central districts are male and 57 are female. In this study, "relational screening model" was used. As a data collection tool; School principals work integration scale developed by Schaufeli et al. (2002) and adapted to Turkish by Kavgacı (2014), school principals' burnout scale developed by Friedman (2002) by Özer, Dönmez and Cömert (2012) and Köybaşı (2017) school administrators entrepreneurship scale was used. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The relationships between the dependent variable of the study, "Primary school administrators' entrepreneurship" and the independent variables "primary school administrators' work integration", "primary school administrators' burnout" and "demographic variables" were examined using t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation and regression analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that male primary school administrators had a higher level of work engagement than females; It has been concluded that primary school administrators aged 36-56 and above perceive themselves more integrated with their work than others. It is understood that there is no significant difference according to gender in the burnout scale of burnout and depersonalization sub-dimensions of school administrators working in primary schools. It has been concluded that the entrepreneurship levels of school administrators working in primary schools are lower than the others (11-31 years) of those who are between 5-10 years in their profession. The reason for this situation can be explained as the variables of material and moral accumulations with age. As a result of the relative research, it is possible to maintain the decline of entrepreneurship at the age of 56 and beyond, which may be due to the duration of the manager's physical condition or the fact that various health areas become more prominent. The regression analysis made; vitality, focus and concentration, exhaustion, depersonalization, and professional achievement variables together give a strong and significant relationship with the entrepreneurship of school administrators working in primary schools (R=0.691, R2=0.477 P<0.05). The five variables mentioned together explain approximately 48% of the total variance of entrepreneurship. Keywords: Primary school administrators, work ıntegration, burnout, entrepreneurship
