Abstract (EN)
Occupational accidents are one of the most important problems encountered in the manufacturing sector. In order to prevent occupational accidents in this sector and to ensure its continuity by increasing its contribution to the country's economy, the perception of the safety climate of the individuals in the working environment is a concept that is emphasized. The aim of the study is to reduce occupational accidents, reduce the cost of occupational accidents, and finally encourage economic growth by evaluating the attitudes and perceptions of manufacturing sector employees about the safety climate. In this research, the perceptions of the manufacturing sector employees regarding the safety climate; It was examined whether they differ according to age, gender, education level, working time, accident or near-miss incident and business line variables. The questionnaire was used to measure the perception of safety climate. In order to evaluate the obtained data, frequency analysis, normality test, factor analysis, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), t test (gender) and Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) were performed to compare the difference in safety climate scores. As a result of the analyzes made, it has been determined that the evaluations of the employees regarding the safety climate differ according to their age, experience and the occurrence of an accident or near-miss event. It has been concluded that safety awareness and competence, safety communication and safety measures are important factors in measuring the safety climate of employees in the manufacturing sector. It has been determined that the evaluations of the employees regarding the safety climate do not differ according to gender, education level and the line of business they work
