Abstract (EN)

The book " IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN " by Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali is a significant and highly beneficial work, unparalleled in its scope. It encompasses Sharia, worship, etiquette, and social conduct. Imam Ghazali especially excelled in the fields of education, moral refinement, and self-accountability. His aim was to elevate Muslims towards purification. Ghazali played a prominent role through his profound understanding of the Quran, enriching his books with interpretations of its verses. His works, especially "IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN" contain a culmination of his experiences in self-examination and remedies for spiritual ailments, making it one of the foremost works in preaching, guidance, and purification. In this thesis, we shed light on some of the pedagogical guidance, admonitions, and purifications found in "IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN" through its interpretations of Quranic verses, presented in the order of their occurrence. We provide the verses along with their interpretations and explanations, distinguishing between the literal and intended meanings when ambiguity arises, while adhering to both investigative and inductive methodologies. Additionally, we categorize his pedagogical guidance in "IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN" beyond interpretation. We primarily focus on the first and second volumes of "IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN": the foundations and pillars of Islam in the first volume, and etiquettes of social interactions in the second. We refrain from delving into the branches of jurisprudence and avoid weak hadiths, concentrating solely on the purification, education, and refinement aspects found in "IHYĀ' 'ULŪM AL-DIN"
