Example of Arabic-Turkish illustrated dictionary associated with 9th and 10th class curriculum of imam hatip high schools

It was decided to make a study of the difficulty of language teaching in schools in Turkey. This thesis study is designed for the students to find and learn words from dictionary easily in Arabic lessons. The thesis consists of two chapters. In order to prepare the main part of the thesis, previously prepared dictionary studies the reasons why to write them.. In the first part of the thesis, while searching the answer to the question , "What is lexicography? ", it has also been mentioned on lexicography Since our thesis is prepared for writing an Arabic dictionary, the dictionaries that were written in Arab world were mentioned and their sections and periods were examined in general terms.. Considering the differences between the purpose of writing each dictionary and the needs of the people it addresses to , there is a need to review the dictionary types and also the methods of writing these dictionaries differ from each other . From this point of view, ,the dictionary types and the methods of preparation are briefly mentioned. When all this information is gathered, some analysis is needed to prepare the dictionary which is the main purpose of our thesis. A 100-person questionnaire study was conducted for the students who were studying in Imam-Hatip High Schools because of having difficulty in finding words in alphabetical dictionaries and, therefore they could not memorize the words, and come to the class by learning them by heart .. As a result, it is observed that they need an illustrated dictionary that is separated into their subjects according to the curriculum As a result of these researches and analyzes, a dictionary on visual content was prepared in section 2 of the thesis.. The words of the dictionary were selected in connection with the topics that is written in the textbook.. In the 9th and 10th class subjects, pictures were drawn related to these words. The aim of these images is to think that the words supported by images will be more instructive. This is the main reason for my study in this thesis.
