Researching the violence tendency of imam-hatip high school students ( İstanbul Anatolian side sample)

In this research, the violence tendency of Imam-Hatip High School students was investigated and evaluated in different dimensions. The related concepts and literature were also researched in the theoretical part.The survey was carried out within 2007-2008 educational year, in Imam-Hatip High Schools which were randomly chosen in Anatolian side of Istanbul. The research was performed in accordance with the randomly sampling method. 275 students (177 girls and 98 boys) participated in the study. The scale, which was built up by Karakaya, was used by the researcher in order to gather the relevant data.In conclusion, the answers of students and the violence scale?s items were compared. As a result of the comparison, it was determined that the variables of the school type, age, class, sex and mothers? being alive/dead or being own or not, are effective in the tendency of violence.Key Words: Violence, Imam-Hatip High School
