Special field competencies of religious culture and ethics course teachers at imam hatip secondary schools

In this research it was aimed to determine teacher's special field competencies by way of the research problem "what are the opinions, importance and proficiency levels of teachers, who work at Imam-Hatip Secondary Schools, about their special field competencies?" In the research, the "Special Field Competencies" determined by the Ministry of National Education were converted into a 5-point likert type questionnaire with the opinions of 50 experts from 20 different universities. Quantitative research methods were used in the research. In the quantitative dimension; "Special Field Competencies of Teachers of Religion and Morals at Imam Hatip Secondary Schools Questionnaire" was applied. Research forms were implemented during seminar periods in June, September and October, 2015. The obtained data of the questionnaires were analyzed by statistical program. The population group of the research are the religion and morals teachers who work at İmam-Hatip Secondary Schools in Turkey and the sample group are the 355 teachers working in 78 İmam-Hatip Secondary Schools located in Kütahya, Uşak, Balıkesir, Eskişehir, Manisa and Afyonkarahisar in Turkey. The sample group is considered to reflect the population with a 95% reliability level. In the statistical analysis phase, the weighted mean values of participation level to the questionnaire items were determined, statistical tests such as Cramer V value, Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis-H test were used. This study consists of three parts. In the study, evaluations were made on the data of the questionnaire and interview form and completed with the conclusion and suggestions part. As a result of the research, it was determined that the teachers of religion and morals who work at Imam Hatip Secondary Schools see the Special Field Competency components as important at a high level and that they felt competent in terms of these competency components.
