Abstract (EN)

As a term unseen (al-ghayb) is a notion which is used in the meaning of an area where emotions and mind can not reach. In order to define the capacity of unseen one has to prove the limits of knowledge. That is why it has been tried to determine the ways of reaching it. In epistemology of Ebu Mansûr el-Mâturîdî, there are three means to reach knowledge. The first of knowledge resources are the senses, they are used to express both five senses and introspection. Matûridî sees news as the second resource segmented in three parts which are oracle, news of the Prophet, and general news. The latest of the knowledge resources is ratiocinate in other words inference. Man get information by this way and it reaches a meaning in mind. At this point the notion of unseen states such area and subjects where man can not reach a meaning even with these resources. This ambiguousness does not belong to the essence of objects. It comes in sight within the context of its relationship with the object itself. That is the reason why this concept has been tried to evaluate in the groups such as absolute and relative. Even if parted in two groups it is highly important to define what is absolute and what is relative. In rough description while absolute unseen is evaluated as a source of knowledge only Allah environs, relative unseen is named after by the obscurity of conditions and time. Mâturîdî evaluates unseen in two categories. Questions about unseen situations change according to the meaning loaded on this concept. This study is focused on the methods of Mâturîdî in the matters included in only absolute unseen.
