Abstract (EN)

For the Russian Empire, which has emerged as a great power in the north, Georgia has a very important place in terms of Russia's domination process in the Caucasus. The Russians' struggle for domination in Georgia continued until the 1810s and Georgia directly entered the domination of Russia. In this process, one of the kingdoms fighting Russian expansionism was the Kingdom of Imereti. King of Imereti, Solomon II lost his struggle against the Russians in 1810 and remained under arrest in Tbilisi for a while and tried to continue his struggle for independence from outside by seeking international support. However, the king could not find the support in this struggle, which was shaped in line with the political developments of the period, and died in 1815. The subject of this thesis is the struggle of Solomon II, the last king of the Kingdom of Imereti with the Russians and his activities in the exile to the Ottoman State. The study consists of introduction and four chapters. In the first chapter, Russia's relations with Georgia within the framework of its activities in the Caucasus and the struggle for domination in Imereti are discussed. In the second chapter, the impact of the Ottoman-Russian War of 1806-1812 and the Treaty of Bucharest on Georgia and the Kingdom of İmereti is emphasized. In the third chapter, King II. Solomon's struggle against the Russians is examined. In this part, the Elaznauri Agreement between the Kingdom of Imereti and the Russian administration, the movement against Russia that started in Imereti and King II. Solomon's request for help is examined. Also in this section, the last struggle and dethroning of king II. Solomon is examined. In the fourth chapter, King Solomon II's exile route of in the Ottoman State is revealed and its activities are examined.
