Abstract (EN)
Phthalocyanines contain a comprehensive delocalized 18 π electron system. They have been used for their unique electronic, optical and structural properties. They have been used in many different technologies and medical applications such as gas sensor, solar cell, liquid crystal, semiconductors, electrochromism, photodynamic therapy of cancer (PDT). In this study, we have reported on the synthesis and characterization of novel 3-(1-methyl-1H-imidazole-2-thiol) phthalonitrile (1) as a ligand and its non-peripherally [M=2H (2), Zn (II) (3), GaCl (III) (4)] phthalocyanines. After the phthalocyanines were purified by suitable methods, they were characterized by spectroscopic data such as UV–Vis, FT-IR , MALDI-TOF and elemental analysis. The molecular structure of the novel compound (1) and its intermolecular interactions have been elucidated by analysing the results of x-ray diffraction measurements.
