The impacts of information and communication technology (ICT) on construction company performance

Implementing Information and communication technology in civil engineering is one of the most important factors in this age for any construction company's growth. Moreover, Information technology plays a vital role in the construction process. This study explores and discusses the importance of information and communication technology in the growth of the construction industry and identifies the relationship between integration of information technology and different growth measures. The scope of this study concentrates on how information and communication technology impacts the growth of construction process and figures out the relationship between the IT processes with the growth measures from the company's management point of view. For methodology, the Qualitative technique was used in which 10 interviews were conducted with middle to top-level managers working in different construction companies in different countries. The construction industry is focus on this study. The findings of this study indicate an important role played by software, hardware, and IT processes. Moreover, Information and communication technology innovation create value for the construction company and their process, decrease the risks that include in any project, make accurate calculations and in result in company growth. The integration of ICT with construction has different measure of growth in the long run.
